Fill out Dist.103 communication survey by March 28
Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 is participating in a new study to help school districts improve communication with parents and community members. District 103 is participating in this online survey at no cost to our school district.
Some 100 school districts throughout the United States have agreed to participate in the survey as part of a national study to make communication more effective at the classroom, school building and district levels. The research is part of a communication accountability program of the National School Public Relations Association, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving all facets of communication in school communities. The survey firm, K12 Insight Inc., is donating its services for this project to NSPRA.
All responses are confidential. Our school district administrators will receive the results from our community survey in late spring, and we plan to use the results to refine our current communication efforts and improve their effectiveness. The compiled results from the 100 school districts will be announced in July by NSPRA, and no identification will be given to individual school districts.
Katrina Bruley, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction at School District 103, states, “We are pleased to offer this survey, and we hope many of our parents and other community members will choose to participate. Learning more about what is effective in communication will improve a very critical link between our schools, parents and the community at large."
“We see this survey being a 'win-win' for School District 103 and the profession of school communication,” says Rich Bagin, APR, NSPRA's Executive Director. “Local school districts will receive new, valuable information on the type of content and delivery methods their parents and others prefer, at no cost to them. NSPRA will receive the compiled results of all survey participants to begin building a base of trends now prevalent in school communications,” Bagin adds.
District 103 began inviting participants via e-mail on March 8 to complete the 10-minute survey and will continue to do so over a three-week period ending March 28.
Parents and community members who have not yet subscribed to receive e-mail communications from our school district can request to do so and participate in the NSPRA survey by contacting Kim Sylvan at ksylvan@district103.k12.il.us or (847) 295-4030 before March 28.
The District 103 online survey is accessible at www.k12insight.com/nspra/District103.html. Survey results will be compiled by NSPRA's partner, K12 Insight, Inc. All parties have signed agreements to assure confidentiality.
