Incumbents promote Stevenson values
Nothing has helped propel the unquestioned success of Stevenson High School more than its Vision and Values.
These statements, which are re-evaluated and rewritten on a roughly seven-year cycle, encapsulate the core beliefs of the entire Stevenson community. They are written by the board members, administrators, faculty, support staff, students and parents that must live by them. This living, very public set of shared beliefs ensures that no single individual or interest group can dominate and direct policy.
Incumbent board members and April election candidates Terry Moons, Bruce Lubin and Merv Roberts, have been part of the process that creates the Stevenson Vision and Values. They recognize and embrace its significance. Virtually every question raised before them on the board is measured up against these statements.
Through this mechanism they have ensured that one guiding principle, the good of the student, is always placed first.
It has been my pleasure and privilege to work with Ms. Moons and Mr. Roberts for the past 16 years and Mr. Lubin for the past eight. I strongly endorse their candidacy, as well as that of their slate partner, David Weisberg. With their continued presence on the school board, I am comfortable that the Vision and Values of Stevenson High School will be preserved.
