For Fremont Elementary District 79

With three relatively new administrators and the senior school board member not running for re-election, continuity seems to be the mantra in Fremont Elementary District 79.

Sandra Bickley, who has been on the board for eight years and has served as board president the last two years, brings important leadership and a steady hand.

Incumbent Teri Herchenbach maintains a good streak of independence, has an eye on the district’s expenses and keeps asking questions.

Newcomer Kim Hansen would make a worthy addition to the board. She brings a wealth of civic involvement, business experience and interesting ideas regarding energizing students in community service.

While Ed Pieklo’s IT and finance background could be an asset, we would prefer to see him get more school experience and increase his civic involvement.

We endorse Bickley, Herchenbach and Hansen.
