For Dist. 300, Clark, Plaza, Stanton, Stevens

Voters in Community Unit District 300 in Carpentersville have six solid candidates from which to choose. Four incumbents are running for four four-year seats. They include Monica Clark, an insurance agent: Karen Plaza, a school finance director; Chris Stanton, a management and IT consultant; and Joseph Stevens, a consultant. Also running are two challengers: Steve Fiorentino, a consultant; and Susie Kopacz, a cosmetics sales director. Job One for this board, like so many others, is dealing with uncertain financial realities. The candidates all express support and enthusiasm for coming Superintendent Michael Bregy’s first-phase initiatives to address fiscal needs and enhance special education programming. The incumbents have positioned themselves to nurture the new ideas and energy that will come with Bregy’s installment and so incumbents Clark, Plaza, Stanton, and Stevens are endorsed.
