Good riddance to death penalty
This letter is written in agreement with the young lady, Jessica Leighton, who wrote a letter against the death penalty. Years ago, when I was in college, I learned the reasons why the death penalty was not only cruel, but ineffective.
I believe our penal institutions are supposed to rehabilitate, not punish. I have written for years to a man on death row, who only writes back prayers for me and my family. Now that the death penalty has been banned, I shout “good riddance.”
