Palatine Park District to hold environmental fair April 9

The Palatine Park District will host an Environmental Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave., Palatine.

Attendees at the free event will learn how to reduce their impact on the environment, see what area agencies and businesses are doing to reduce their impact and learn about programs and products to assist in their efforts.

The Palatine Environmental Health Division will collect athletic shoes for the Nike Reuse-a-Shoe program sponsored by Nike and the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County. For more information, call the park district at (847) 991-0333.
