Lawmakers host pension forums

State Sen. Susan Garrett, State Rep. Karen May, and State Rep. Elaine Nekritz will host two public forums Saturday, March 12 regarding public pension systems at the state and national level. Ron Snell, senior fellow and public pension expert from the National Conference of State Legislators, will give an overview of public pension issues and discuss what other states have done to change retirement plans for state employees. Questions and comments are welcome. The first forum is 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Highland Park Public Safety Building Training Room, 1677 Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park. The second forum is 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Northbrook Village Hall, 1225 Cedar Lane, Northbrook.
