In Lakemoor: Dabrowski, Brindise, Lennon

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Village politics in Lakemoor were once quite heated. More recently, however, village board members have moved past the infighting to work together for their community. And they do have work to do. The need for development continues, and a more cohesive board has a better chance of bringing business to town. Five candidates are vying to be part of that board now, and voters have some strong options. Incumbents Ralph Brindise and Kathy Lennon bring much-needed experience to the challenges ahead. Challenger Jeff Nykaza didn't respond to our invitation to get to know him better, but Ray Wollschlaeger and Matthew Dabrowski did — and we were impressed with both. We especially liked Dabrowski's background as a development planner for the village of Arlington Heights. That, coupled with his professionalism and enthusiasm, gives him an edge we think Lakemoor needs.

We endorse Dabrowski, Brindise and Lennon.
