Schaumburg hammer attack case continued
The court case of a 16-year-old Schaumburg girl accused of putting her neighbor in a coma by attacking him with a hammer last March 29, was continued for another two weeks Tuesday.
The girl has been charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and aggravated battery — all as a juvenile — but prosecutors have spoken of plans to file a motion to transfer the case to adult court. The victim, Rajesh Thakkar, 58, lost his right eye in the attack and remains in therapy to improve his speech and other physical abilities.
