Lake in the Hills: Bogdanowski, Mulcahy, Ruzanski

By The Daily Herald Editorial Board

The three newcomers to the Lake in the Hills village board race can find little wrong with the current board members, and as it applies to the two board members seeking re-election, we agree. Incumbent Ray Bogdanowski wants to focus on retaining the businesses already in the village, while keeping an eye toward future development along Route 47. His e-mail newsletters show a desire to keep residents informed of board activities and promote transparency. Incumbent Paul Mulcahy can claim the popular Summer Sunset Festival as a piece of his legacy on the board, where he is serving his second stint. Among the newcomers, Russell Ruzanski has the passion and new ideas to make a solid addition to the board. His idea of temporary street lighting via coach lights on east-side homes warrants a look, given the lack of funds for completely new street lighting in the original section of town. All are endorsed and will keep the village fiscally sound. Candidates William Dustin and Joe Wright are also running.
