Property tax help for seniors

The Chief County assessment office and the Lake County Township Assessors Association will host a public outreach session to assist residents in completing the 2011 Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Application for taxes payable in 2012. They will also help taxpayers with other homestead exemptions offered.

Residents will work one on one with a staff member to complete the necessary exemptions forms. The program is 1 to 2 p.m. April 11, at the Senior Center in the Vernon Hills village hall, 290 Evergreen Drive. Visit www.lakecountyil.gov.assessor or call (847) 377-2050 or your local township office.
