3 teens charged in battery after Mt. Prospect fight

Three teenagers have been arrested and charged with aggravated battery following what police say was a gang fight in Mount Prospect on Wednesday.

Two male teenagers said they were approached by the group of suspects at 12:47 p.m. near 919 Boxwood Drive, and they said they suffered injuries from a confrontation, according to the Mount Prospect Police Department.

Jorge Magana, 17, of Wheeling, Luis Guzman, 17, of Arlington Heights, and a 16-year-old juvenile from Wheeling each face one felony count of aggravated battery and two counts of felony mob action. Police said the suspects are admitted gang members.

One of the victims was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights for treatment of blunt trauma, and the other was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Neither victim's injuries were considered to be life threatening, police said.

Magana and Guzman were at a bond hearing Friday, and the 16-year-old was taken to the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago.
