Parents, minors cited at Arlington Hts. party
Two parents and 19 underage party goers face alcohol-related charges after officers broke up a suspected drinking party last weekend in Arlington Heights, police said Thursday.
Barbara and Jerome Bonell, both 48, of the 400 block of South Yale Avenue, were cited with the ordinance violation of facilitating the use of alcoholic beverages by underage persons in the residence, police said.
Eleven minors under 21 and eight juveniles 17 or under were cited for underage consumption of alcohol by a minor.
The charges came after officers responding to an anonymous call at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 found what appeared to be minors drinking beer in the basement of the home.
The homeowner allowed police to check the basement, and 11 of the 12 minors found there took Breathalyzer tests that showed they had consumed alcohol, Sgt. Mike Hernandez said.
The minors were cited and their parents called.
Officers found eight other party goes on another level of the house, including a 15-year-old who was incoherent. They called paramedics to treat the teenager.
Cited were: Allison Brightwell, 19, 3600 block of Sigwalt Street, Rolling Meadows; Colin Buscarini, 18, 1300 block of South Dunton Avenue, Arlington Heights; Monica Cichowlas, 18, 500 block Carol Lane, Mount Prospect; Matthew Gelman, 18, 100 N. Kaspar Avenue, Arlington Heights.
Also: Kei Glaser, 18, 2300 block of Sigwalt Street, Rolling Meadows; Luciano Laterza, 18, 1000 block of South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights; Lauren Lonergan, 18, 400 block of South Lincoln Lane, Arlington Heights; Patrick Luxem, 18, 200 block of South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights; Julia Matamoras, 18, 600 block Central Road, Arlington Heights; Patrick McGinn, 18, 200 block of South Walnut Avenue, Arlington Heights; and Auste Salkauskaite, 18, 2100 block of Vermont Street, Rolling Meadows.
The Bonnells are scheduled to appear in court March 30, police said.
