Schaumburg man charged in 2009 murder

A Schaumburg man faces a first-degree murder charge stemming from the April 2009 slaying of a Woodridge man on Chicago's west side, police said.

Timothy Sinico, 22, of the 200 block of North Ashwood Drive, was charged Sunday in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Adrian Thompson, police said.

Chicago police found Thompson with a bullet lodged in his chest after his car crashed April 23, 2009 in the 1400 block of North Mason Avenue. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Detectives were able to locate witnesses who identified Sinico as the shooter, police said.
