District 103 Spelling Bee results

Eighth-grader Grace Young is the Lincolnshire-Prairie View Elementary District 103 districtwide Spelling Bee champion, district officials announced.

The runner-up was sixth-grader John Kollross and the third-place finalist was seventh-grader Patrick DeMichele in the competition held Jan. 26 at Daniel Wright Junior High School.

Grade level competitions were held during the month of December to determine the finalists to participate in the districtwide bee.

The students who competed as grade level representatives in the District 103 Spelling Bee were:

Grade 8 — Tom Imus, Diane Jiang, Alex Knezevic, Jeremy Lan, Jonathan Mishory, Carl Padgett, Adam Teng, Jessie Wang, Grace Young, David Zhang

Grade 7 — Kazemi Adachi, Patrick DeMichele, Sharon Kim, Janavi Kotamarthi, Ann Marie Morrison, Mekki Rachedine, Evan Rodriguez, Alec Smith, Niveda Tennety, Andy Xu
