Aurora cops probe 4-year-old’s death
Aurora police are questioning a man and a woman in connection with the death of a 4-year-old girl who died early Sunday, authorities said Monday.
Police said officers responded to a 911 report of a child found unconscious and not breathing at 3:20 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Sandstone Court.
The girl was taken by paramedics to Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora where she was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m.
Spokesman Dan Ferrelli said Aurora police and investigators from the DuPage County Child Advocacy Center found injuries on the child that could be consistent with child abuse, but an autopsy conducted Monday by the Kane County coroner’s office was inconclusive.
Police were not yet identifying the girl as of early Monday evening and no charges had been filed in connection with her death.
Ferrelli said the investigation is continuing.
