Island Lake reverses stance on water-fund loan

The Island Lake village board on Thursday reversed course and rescinded Finance Director John Little’s ability to borrow up to $300,000 from a special water fund to pay the village’s bills.

The board had given Little to borrow the money from the fund, if needed, earlier this month after a heated discussion.

Trustees voted 5-1 to reverse the earlier decision. Only Trustee Connie Mascillino voted against the change.
