Naming of new Hoffman Estates park commissioner on hold
The Hoffman Estates Park District will wait until next week to name a new board member.
Commissioners wanted to name the replacement for the late Scott Triphahn at Tuesday night’s meeting, but a procedural snafu on the meeting’s agenda prevented them from announcing the appointment. Instead, board members will wait until Tuesday, March 1 to formally appoint their new colleague.
The new member will fill the seat left vacant by Triphahn, who died from cancer in December. The board voted to rename the district’s community center the Triphahn Center as a tribute to the longtime commissioner.
