Relay For Life kickoff set for March 1

American Cancer Society Relay For Life

Friends, neighbors and cancer survivors are coming together for an energizing celebration at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Club Casa Café at the Des Plaines Golf Center, 353 N. River Road. It will kick off the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Des Plaines, Park Ridge.

Anyone who wishes to form a team, volunteer to help with planning the event, or wants to hear more about this year's highlights is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Relay For Life is an overnight event to "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."

The event celebrates the lives of those who have had cancer, remembers loved ones lost to the disease and rallies individuals to fight back against a disease that takes too much. Teams raise funds, before and during the event, to fight cancer.

Relay For Life of Des Plaines, Park Ridge will be held from 6 p.m. June 24 to 6 a.m. June 25 at Maine West High School in Des Plaines.
