Schaumburg group roup licenses 'got breastmilk?' slogan

It's the "got milk?" advertising slogan with a twist.

The Schaumburg-based breast-feeding advocacy group, La Leche League International, is now an official licensee of the slogan "got breastmilk?" The nonprofit group is selling buttons, mugs and T-shirts with the slogan, officially launching this week.

The California Milk Processor Board owns the trademark and will work with La Leche League on promoting breast-feeding. Milk board executive director Stephen James says the group registered "got breastmilk?" two years ago because it was so close to the "got milk?" slogan.

The breast-feeding organization was founded in 1956 by seven suburban women. They named the group for the Spanish word for milk so meeting notices could be printed in newspapers without offending anyone.
