No decision on water fund loan

Island Lake trustees on Thursday postponed a vote to rescind the finance director’s ability to transfer money from the town’s water fund to pay other bills. Finance Director John Little wants to borrow up to $300,000, if needed, to cover costs. The loan was approved last week, but some board members are seeking to reverse the decision. The board postponed the vote Thursday because one trustee who voted on the measure initially was not present. However, Mayor Debbie Herrmann said she believes rescinding a previous vote might only be permissible at the very next meeting after the initial vote.
