Addison man stabbed inside home

An Addison man was in surgery Wednesday afternoon after receiving a “serious stab wound” during an apparent domestic disturbance inside his home, police said.

Officers responded around 9:35 a.m. to the 1200 block of Anvil Court. Police said the victim, who is about 40, was stabbed once in what appeared to be an isolated domestic situation.

“It doesn’t appear at this time that it was a residential burglary or anything like that,” Detective Cmdr. Joseph Maranowicz said.

Maranowicz said the victim was rushed to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital with a “serious stab wound.”

Police distributed a letter to homes in the neighborhood informing residents that a stabbing took place, but included that there was no threat to the neighborhood of any recurring event. Police said no suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
