COD receives $64,015 CTE innovation grant

The Illinois Community College Board recently awarded $64,015 to College of DuPage for a FY 2011 Career and Technical Education Innovation Grant.

Funding for the CTE grant will support the acquisition of lab equipment, supplies and technician support for a Information Technology certificate offered at COD's West Chicago Regional Center.

Starting this summer, A+ Computer Maintenance certificate courses will be offered, with Network Professional certificate classes beginning fall semester 2011.

Courses in these certificate programs are transferable to the College's Associate of Applied Science degrees in Computer and Internetworking Technologies or Computer Information Systems.

In addition, COD will continue collaboration with the DuPage Area Occupational Education System and local high schools in student outreach and education.
