Township holds seminar for distressed homeowners

Hanover Township Assessor Thomas S. Smogolski and Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider will co-sponsor a Distressed Homeowner Seminar on Saturday, March 5.

Starting at 10 a.m. in the Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett, residents will hear information on options available to those struggling to make mortgage payments and facing a possible foreclosure.

“The economy is affecting people differently and unfortunately there is a need for this type of event in our community,” said Hanover Township Assessor Thomas S. Smogolski. “Owning a home is hard right now but we are happy to offer this service to hopefully ease residents’ concerns.”

A representative from the Cook County Circuit Court, a local real estate agent and a CPA will be on-site to give a presentation, offer solutions and take questions.
