Groups team up to help Schaumburg parents

Schaumburg High School’s Saxon Action and the Kenneth Young Center are offering “You Don’t Know Me Until You Know Me,” an evening with Dr. Michael Fowlin, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at the Kenneth Young Center, 1001 Rohlwing Road in Elk Grove Village. Parents and students are invited to hear this speaker address the issues of race, violence, personal identity, suicide, gender equity, homophobia, discrimination, and emotional pain by slipping in and out of nine characters, male and female, who share their stories with humor and heartbreak. Dinner and refreshments will be provide before the presentation. Advance registration is required and space is limited. RSVP by Feb. 17 to Jake Levinson at (847) 534-8800, ext. 157.
