Rotary club offers 'Ask the Experts' March 22 with Harris Private Bank

Harris Private Bank will present its strategy on helping individuals and small businesses in Barrington during this historic recession at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 at the Garlands Performing Arts Center, 1000 Garlands Lane in Barrington. This event is sponsored by the Rotary (Noon) Club of Barrington.

Please register as soon as possible as seating is limited for this event. Lunch will be served at 12:10 p.m., and the presentation will follow immediately. The cost of this event is $15 per person, payable at the door for all non-Barrington Noon Rotary Club members.

Jack Ablin, executive vice president and chief investment officer with Harris Private Bank, will lead the presentation which will include information on the economy outlook for individuals and business owners in Barrington.

In addition, Mr. Ablin will provide information on wealth management strategies which include: financial planning, investment management and advisory services, philanthropic advice, trust and estate administration services, tailored banking and lending and family office services.

He has more than 25 years of experience in money management; and has written on a variety of topics, including psychology and financial markets. Mr. Ablin is also the author of "Reading Minds and Markets: Minimizing Risk and Maximizing Returns in a Volatile Global Marketplace," published in July 2009 by F.T. Press.

In addition, Mr. Ablin is a frequent contributor to CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal and Barron's; and was named as one of the top 100 Wealth Advisors in North America by CitiWealth Magazine. He graduated with honors with a BA in mathematics and computer science, received an MBA with honors from Boston University, holds the CFA designation, is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, and a CFA Institute Charterholder.

The Harris Private Bank presentation will also include William Shannon, managing director of Harris Private Banking based in Barrington. Mr. Shannon will share his insight on what has transpired in the private banking industry for those in the Northwest Suburbs.
