Blackhawks send Leddy, Taffe to Rockford

The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned defenseman Nick Leddy and forward Jeff Taffe to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

Leddy, 19, has netted two goals in 18 games with the Blackhawks as well as 10 points (2G, 8A) in 22 AHL tilts with Rockford this season during his professional debut. The Eden Prairie, Minnesota, native won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, New York, in January collecting two assists and a +1 plus/minus rating in five contests.

Taffe, 30, made his Blackhawks debut in Phoenix on Saturday, winning two faceoffs and logging 4:05 of ice time. The Hastings, Minnesota, native leads Rockford with 15 goals, including a team-high seven power-play markers, and 34 points (15G, 19A) in 44 regular-season tilts this year.
