Fox readers’ images of Blizzard 2011

For many of us, the Blizzard of 2011 will become one of those: Where were you moments?

Were you stuck in traffic, watching the snow pile up around your car and wondering how long it would take to finally make it home? Were you anxiously looking out the front window, eager for a loved one to arrive safely? Were you huddled around the fireplace with your family and cups of hot cocoa or were you stuck at an airport or a hotel or, worst of all, work?

How long did it take you to shovel out? How long did it take before you saw a plow come down your block? How high were the drifts, how long were the icicles, how tall was the snowman?

Over time our memories, like the visibility at the height of the storm, probably will get a little hazy. That three-hour commute will get a little longer. The piles of snow along the side of the road will get a little higher. Was it really 20 inches on the driveway or 30?

But one thing won’t change: the images we captured with our cameras.

We asked our readers to send us some of their favorite images of the storm and its aftermath and they responded big time. We wanted to share a few of them with you as a final reminder of where we were when the Blizzard of 2011 roared through and what we survived.
