Friends of the Barrington Area Library to hold sale

What better time than winter to curl up with a good book?

The Friends of the Barrington Area Library will hold its February used book sale 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at the library, 505 N. Northwest Highway, Barrington.

The sale will feature a wide selection of both adult and children’s books, as well as CDs, videotapes, vinyl LPs and other materials. There also will be a huge selection of donated vinyl LPs with special pricing, plus an expanded military/Civil War history section; increased selections of biographies and children’s book offerings are also featured in this sale only. Most items — except for some rare or older books — will be offered two-for-one on Sunday.

All proceeds from the Friends’ three-times-a year book sales help to purchase items for the library that are not covered by the regular budget.

Friends contributions helped fund the library’s new “smart” meeting room; other items that the sales have helped to fund include books for the Summer Reading Club, flip video cameras, and computer equipment and software for patrons and staff.
