Dist. 214 students to be inducted into tech honor society
Outstanding Career and Technical Education students from the six high schools in District 214 will be inducted into the National Technology Honor Society (NTHS) 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in a ceremony held at Forest View Educational Center in Arlington Heights.
The mission of NTHS, since its establishment in 1986, is to honor student achievement and leadership in CTE, promote academic excellence, and enhance career opportunities for its members. Over 2,500 schools and colleges throughout the United States maintain NTHS chapters.
Criteria for membership in NTHS includes the following:
Ÿ Grade-point average of 4.5 or better in CTE course work
Ÿ Overall GPA of 4.0 or better
Ÿ Good attendance
Ÿ Post secondary plans in a related field
Ÿ Participation in CTE student organizations (DECA—Distributive Education Clubs of America, FCCLA— Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Inc., FTA—Future Teachers of America, Robotics, Auto Club, etc.)
Ÿ Exemplary personal and professional conduct, exceptional character, and good citizenship
