West Chicago clearing way to mailboxes
Now that the streets and alleys are clear, West Chicago road crews are plowing so mail carriers can drive up to residents’ mailboxes.
“Making mailboxes more accessible; that’s the biggest thing right now,” Tim Wilcox, the city’s street superintendent, said Thursday. “As long as (the carriers) can’t drive up to the mailbox, they won’t deliver (the mail).”
Road crews are still working on some of the downtown streets, but overall, “everything is kind of getting back to normal,” Wilcox said.
