The driver of the car, who preferred not to be identified, said he was driving southbound along the unplowed road when he hit the brakes to avoid another car that had lost control. The eastbound lane of Route 20 at the intersection with Route 47 in Pingree Grove remained blocked Thursday around noon while crews continued to clean up Route 20. The road was mainly cleared for two lanes of traffic, but crews were working on the shoulders where snow had piled up.
