If elected for the position of trustee I will perform to the best of my ability on behalf of all residents. My track record of getting things done once elected speaks to the dedication I have for public service to the community when called to action.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The sales revenue collected in our village is low. The Village has failed to capitalize on opportunities to attract significant new business. Winfield is a gem in the rough that can grow and proper. As that occurs sales revenue will increase and the village will be able achieve the financial strengh it needed to avoid bonding for revenue.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.There are several safety concerns that go unaddressed in the village. Flooding in many areas occur as many as 4 times per year after as little as 1 inch of rain. It is so severe that roads are closed completely making it difficult for emergency vehicles to navigate and preveting them from responding to emergencies quickly. Kids playing in and around the waist high flood water is dangerous. In some cases the manhole covers on the roads have been blown off by water force and if a person fell in that manhole it would be a bad situation.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?There was a time when the village ran with a smaller staff and more police officers. Now the inverse is true. Public safety should come first. We need to cut back on consultant and professional fee's. Stop paying for study's going no where and get back to basic's for the next few years.What#146;s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Our history in Winfield seems to be that, ""after all was said and done, more was said then done"".I hope to change that!
