It is essential that we continue to provide services at current levels without placing more tax burdens on residents. Explain.With the budget we developed for fiscal 2011, we will be able to continue village operations without sacrificing service or increasing taxes. that indicates to me that taxes are about right.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? People seem to have understood that we will be able to re-assign some administative duties in order to put some officers back on the street and not reduce service.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?This is not the time to undertake large, ""nice-to-have"" projects. We will be able to continue to operate with a balanced budget by provding basic services and not a whole lot more at least until the economic situation improves.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?It would be difficult to do in this economic climate, but I would like to see a Veteran's Memorial constructed in Lake in the Hills at some point in time.
