The Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce invites business people to the following events. These are all excellent opportunities to meet other local business people, exchange business cards and make new connections.

Feb 5: Ribbon-cutting and open house will be held at noon at the C&A Robot Factory, 326 Peterson Road, 137 W off Milwaukee, next to DMV, in Libertyville. RSVP to (847) 996-0123. Come and enjoy a Saturday of fun with your children. Snacks, free gifts, contests, prizes, games

Feb. 5: Mario Tricoci hosts a free Valentine's Day Saturday Night Open House/Mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1441 W. Peterson Road, Libertyville. Join them for this special Saturday nite mix and mingle. Enjoy complimentary nail polish changes, seated chair massage, salon and spa tours, light bites and beverages.

Receive $15 for every $100 spent on gift cards or certificates (up to $45).

Feb. 8: The GLMV Women's Networking Group Luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at White Deer Run Golf Club, 255 Greggs Parkway, Vernon Hills. Cost is $12 with RSVP in advance or $15 walk-ins at door. Cash or check only – pay at door

Feb. 9: The multi-chamber "Chocolate & Champagne" networking event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at Crowne Plaza Chicago/Northbrook, 2875 N. Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook. Mingle with members of local chambers, network with exhibitors of all types of businesses and enjoy chocolate and champagne! Cost for an Event Sponsor is $250 (includes 8-foot skirted table, logo on event materials, infomercial at event, sign with logo at entrance of event, table sign, brochure in goody bags and four admissions). Goody Bag Sponsor is $75 (two admisisons, opportunity to provide bags for 200 attendees); Exhibit Table Registration is $70 Exhibit Table/$85 Retail Sales Table (includes one admission, 6-foot skirted table and sign. electricity $25 extra.); and Goody Bag Participation is $25 and 200 items by Feb. 2 to the chamber office.

Attendees get 2 for 1 admission for $15 by Feb. 2. After Feb. 2, it is $25 and non-members. It includes one drink ticket for champagne or non-alcoholic beverage.

Feb. 15: The GLMV monthly luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Austins Saloon & Eatery, 481 Peterson Road, Libertyville. The speaker will be media personality Sandy Lincoln, investment strategist, M&I Investments Management Corp. The topic will be "Economic Outlook 2011." Will the recovery continue? What is the outlook for the stock market? Is there a bubble in the making overseas? Join GLMV's most influential business people for lunch and a presentation from the sought-after investment strategist Sandy Lincoln on what's ahead for the 2011 Business Climate. Sandy regularly appears on CNBC, CNN, WGN and Bloombert. He has been quoted in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune and others.

It will be a buffet. The event sponsor is Bridgeview Bank. Cost is $17 for members by Feb. 11, or $20 after Feb. 11 and at door. Cost for nonmembers is $20 by Feb. 11 or $25 after Feb. 11 and at door. Sorry, but we must charge for cancellations after Feb. 14 and all no shows

Feb. 21: After-hours mixer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Panera Bread, 700 N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills. Remember the smell of fresh bread coming from mom's oven? Enjoy taste tempting delights of Panera Bread with other business professionals as you make new connections. Remember to bring plenty of business cards and a guest or two.

Feb. 23: Munch & Learn from noon to 1 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the chamber office, 1123 S. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville (second floor BankFinancial Building). Free. The speaker is Ken Suskin, Suskin, Menachof & Associates on "How to Blog." Ken, an avid blogger at kennethsuskin.blogspot.com, explains what is a blog and how to start blogging for your business. Bring a brown bag lunch or treat yourself to a "Brown Bag" lunch available at the event from Cafe Pyrenees for $8 (includes choice of sandwich, cookie/chips and drink)

Feb. 25: A member orientation will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. at the chamber office, 1123 S. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, (second floor Bank Financial Building)
