Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?The Park District tries to enhance the quality of life to it#146;s citizens. The district tries to see what the community wants as far as programs interests and tries to accommodate those wishes. Not all the programs make money and never will. Some will, like the golf course, but some won#146;t like the Seniors programming or after school teen activities. So, it#146;s that balance that the district must watch to make sure needs are met and the district breaks even.Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.I am not aware of any open space the park district is acquiring. I am a proponent of bettering the community with open space as long as it is fiscally responsible. Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves?I believe the Park District is very diverse in its recreational fulfillment to the community. I also believe the district should always be looking at future needs. In these difficult economic times it is more important than ever to meet the needs of the community with more local recreational activities. I am committed to making this happen.Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency?I do support sharing activities with the Village of Mundelein, local school districts, libraries and private organizations. Currently the Park District is sharing a number of activities with all these organizations. I support this and would like to build on these relationships. If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.I have a commitment to community service. I am a strong proponent of giving back to the community. Ernie Shymanik is retiring after over 20 years of service guiding the Park District to what it is today. I would like to dedicate myself to ensure The Mundelein Park District maintains this same level of service to the community.
