Three injured in Crystal Lake crash
Three people were injured when a 65-year-old woman drove through a red light in Crystal Lake causing a three-vehicle crash, according to police.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Virginia Street and Dole Avenue at 4:45 p.m. and found one overturned vehicle and two other vehicles involved in the crash.
Janis Easty, 65, of Crystal Lake was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry southbound on Dole Avenue when she drove through a red light and struck a minivan with two adults and three juveniles inside, according to police.
The Toyota Camry rolled over during the crash and struck a Buick LeSabre that was waiting at the stop light, police said.
Two passengers in the minivan, a 37-year-old Pingree Grove woman and a juvenile, were injured in the crash and taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin, according to police.
Easty was also injured and transported to Good Shepard Hospital in Barrington.
The driver of the minivan, a 36-year-old man, was injured but was not taken to a hospital.
The roadway was cleared by 5:39 p.m.
No traffic citations had been issued as of Sunday night, but the accident remains under investigation.
