Your news: Prospect High Orchesis presents annual show

Prospect High School’s 2011 Orchesis Show, “RELEASE,” will present a variety of dance styles, from ballet, pointe and contemporary, to jazz, Bollywood and hip-hop, at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 3- 5, in the school’s theater.

There will also be an additional matinee benefit performance Saturday, Feb. 5, at 1:30 p.m. All ticket proceeds from the benefit show will go to the Lindsey Marie Eyles Trust, to provide dance scholarships to Mount Prospect residents in need.

Featured guest choreographers are dance professionals Christian Denice, Dome Lorusso, Alka Nayyar, Anjali Julka and Dionna PridGeon, who have worked with the students on four different pieces. Many of the works danced by the 28-member Orchesis group are student-choreographed.

“We’re looking forward to putting on an entertaining, energetic and diverse show that will highlight the hard work, talent and dedication of each Orchesis members,” said Prospect Orchesis director Kristin Burton.
