Governor, sign death penalty repeal

Our state has come a long way having both the House and Senate pass a bill to repeal the death penalty. Everyone should now encourage Governor Quinn to sign it.

This is the only way to assure that innocent people will not be executed, that victim’s families will not be held in legal limbo for decades, and that millions of dollars will not be wasted on the process.

Also, it is the right thing to do; we will part company with the few countries who show little respect for human life by their high execution rates.
