Entries in prose, poetry and visual art must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 28

The deadline for entries to this year’s District 214 Community Writing and Art contest is Friday, Jan. 28. Send or drop off entries to Jennifer Aguilar-Iannotti at Arts Unlimited 214, Elk Grove High School, 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village. All entrants must submit two copies of their work. Print your name, address and telephone number on the back of one copy, write the title only on the other copy. One entry per person per category is permitted.

Ÿ Poetry: Any style, any subject.

Ÿ Prose: 1,500-word limit, fiction or non-fiction.

Ÿ Visual art: 2D media, color or grayscale. Visual art must be submitted as either a photograph or copy.

No entries will be returned.

The annual contest is open only to residents of the District 214 attendance area. Winners will be notified on March 18, and will be invited to the awards presentation and reception on April 13. The winning entries will be featured in an edition of the Daily Herald and also on www.dailyherald.com.

The community contest is sponsored by Arts Unlimited and the Daily Herald.
