Prospect H.S. jazz rated "superior" at festival

Prospect High School's Jazz Program made an impressive showing at the 2011 Northshore Jazz Festival, held at Glenbrook South High School on Saturday, Jan. 22.

More than 80 bands attended, performing for judges and participating in clinics and concerts throughout the day at the event.

All of Prospect's Jazz groups received straight superior ratings: Prospect's Jazz Ensemble I finished in 2nd place in class AA, Prospect's Jazz Ensemble II captured 1st place in class AA (second bands), and Prospect's Combo also won 1st place in class AA (combo). Three Prospect students received top solo awards, including senior Robby Mack (alto), junior Brian Greene (trumpet), and junior Riley Mangan (piano).
