Hawthorn District 73 planning finance forum

Hawthorn School District 73 will host a finance forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at Hawthorn Middle South, 600 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills.

The forum will outline the work of the district’s Financial Advisory Task Force and those volunteers’ ideas for closing an anticipated $1.5 million to $2 million gap in next year’s budget.

The task force will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 16 at the Hawthorn District Office, 841 West End Court, Vernon Hills. Its recommendation is expected to be presented to the Hawthorn board of education during its Feb. 28 meeting.
