Wauconda home damaged in fire
Wauconda firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that left a house uninhabitable Saturday afternoon.
Nine fire departments helped fight the blaze at a home in the 1000 block of Madison Avenue, said Battalion Chief Bob Rucker.
Flames were showing on the outside of the home when crews arrived at 12:45 p.m. No one was at home when the fire broke out. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Rucker said.
He said the house is being boarded up and is uninhabitable.
