Oak Brook president has some nerve

The nerve of Oak Brook Village President John W. Craig. It’s OK for him and his wife to collect their pensions because they worked for them. Does he think the people he’s allowed to be bashed during a village board meeting play tiddlywinks on the job?

Recently, two firefighters were laid to rest, and God knows how many policemen were subjected to dangerous situations in the same time. It’s the same old story: It’s OK for me and mine and don’t you dare mess with me or my golden egg; let someone else suffer.

Talk about double dipping. he alone will have three pensions and his wife two. Does he think public servants start out making big bucks? He says he made $18.50 a day as a substitute teacher. He has certainly come a long way as we all did during our careers. Start at the bottom and work your way up.

He thinks the airing of his pension income is political. Of course, it is, but by the same token he is a politician by choice and he reaps the rewards of being one. As it should be all politicians’ lives are public. If he doesn’t like the heat, get out of the kitchen.
