Mariani Landscape CEO receives honor

Mariani Landscape Chief Executive Officer Frank Mariani recently received the “Mentor to the Industry” award from the Illinois Green Industry Association at the organization's annual dinner.

“It's humbling to be recognized by the IGIA as a mentor in the industry I love,” Mariani said. “Every day, the talented people I am proud to work with do more than create unique landscapes that reflect our residential and commercial customers' dreams. We use eco-friendly and sustainable practices to enhance their properties and that reflect our long-term commitment to being a steward of the land.”

“Frank Mariani is family, teacher, friend,” said Dave Bender, executive director for the IGIA. “He is a legend and a luminary. Most important for all of us — whether colleagues, competitors, friends, subordinates, staff, students or admirers — he is respected and revered as a ‘Mentor to Our Industry.' The principles and values instilled in Frank by his father Vito were the very seeds that have helped Mariani Landscape grow into one of the country's most successful green industry businesses.”

Frank Mariani has led Mariani Landscape since the 1972 death of his father, Italian immigrant Vito Mariani, who founded the company in 1958 to provide landscape maintenance services to residents of Chicago's North Shore.

Under Frank Mariani's guidance — and with his brothers Landscape Architect John Mariani and Client Representative Vito Mariani — Mariani Landscape has grown into one of the largest landscape design, installation and maintenance firms in the country. In addition to acting as the CEO of Mariani Landscape and Mariani Nurseries, Frank Mariani leads and teaches future generations about the importance of supporting the green industry.

Mariani Landscape in Lake Bluff is IS0 9001 certified and provides landscape design, installation and maintenance services to residential and commercial clients throughout Chicagoland. The company is known for installing high profile projects such as Evening Island at Chicago Botanic Gardens and the restoration of Lake Forest's historic downtown district, as well as many local residential projects. Mariani Landscape's talented landscape architects and other employees create beautifully designed projects with value that lasts and consistently win prestigious state and national awards.
