Police seek help identifying man linked to robbery

Schaumburg police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect being sought in connection with the after-hours robbery of a restaurant last Saturday.

Victims reported that just before 1 a.m. Saturday, five or six masked offenders entered the restaurant on the 800 block of South Roselle Road.

At least one handgun was displayed as the offenders demanded money of the two employees present. The offenders received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, police said.

Schaumburg's K-9 officer, Thunder, tracked the offenders to a nearby residential neighborhood where they appeared to have entered a vehicle and drove away.

The victims were not injured or restrained during the robbery. The restaurant, which police are not naming, was closed and no patrons were present.

All the offenders were described as males of medium height and build wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts. Two were described as being in their early 20s.

Witnesses were able to help detectives develop a composite sketch of one individual who had been in the restaurant before the robbery. The victims told police they believed he may have had some involvement in the crime.

The man was described as Hispanic, in his early 20s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with short dark spiked hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who recognizes the man or who has any other information regarding the robbery is asked to call the Schaumburg Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at (847) 882-3534.
