District 103 to host succession planning forums
Lincolnshire-Prairie View Elementary District 103 community members are invited to participate in succession planning forums, district officials have announced.
The forums are scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 25 and 26, in the Library/Media Center of Daniel Wright Junior High School, 1370 Riverwoods Road, Lincolnshire.
The purpose of the open community forums is to identify characteristics that District 103 stakeholders feel are important in district leaders, officials said in a news release.
The forums are an important part of the process initiated by the school board to plan for the transition of administrative personnel, including the superintendent, assistant superintendent for instruction and assistant superintendent for business, over the next two years, officials said.
The District 103 school board has retained Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, a firm that specializes in assisting boards with educational consulting and executive search services, to advise the board during this process.
District 103 includes Laura B. Sprague School for students in Early Childhood through second grade; Half Day School for students in third and fourth grades; and Daniel Wright Junior High School for students in fifth through eighth grades.
Half Day School and Daniel Wright were recognized as 2010 Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
