COD student's photos selected for Soho show
College of DuPage Photography student Helena Kaminski's work was recently selected for the Soho Photo Gallery's Small Works Juried National Competition.
The Elmhurst resident had two photographs, “Remnants of Ghosts” and “Sunning Tires,” selected for exhibition in the famed New York gallery through February 2011.
After viewing more than 600 images submitted by 95 photographers nationwide, Juror Richard Klein, exhibitions director of the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, Conn., selected 50 photographs from 25 artists for the exhibition.
“(The) artists chosen exhibited a remarkable range of media, including tintype, silver gelatin, Polaroid, C-Print and digital,” Klein said. “Good art cannot be forgotten easily, and the 50 photographs in this show all exhibit consistent staying power.”
Kaminski will receive her associate in applied science degree in photography at COD in 2011.
