Rodgers defends non-signing moment

First it was Jay Cutler getting dissed for not smiling enough and wearing his cap backwards.

Now, it's Packers QB Aaron Rodgers who's in the spotlight.

Literally.

A video has emerged showing breast cancer survivor Jan Cavanaugh at an airport looking for an autograph from Rodgers, who just walks past her.

The video caused some pundits to lash out at Rodgers' behavior, and also forced Cavanaugh to issue a statement in support of the maligned quarterback, who she said signed her jersey last week and has also signed a number of things for her in the past.

On “The Dan Patrick Show” on Tuesday, Rodgers defended himself.

“Well Jan is a great fan and we have an incredible fan base that travels well and would like to thank all the fans that showed up in Atlanta,” Rodgers said. “I've met Jan on previous occasions, I've signed for her, and as the video shows on this trip I didn't see her and I didn't sign for her.

“This kinda has turned into something I didn't really expect but I think the people of Green Bay know how I feel about them and how much I appreciate their support.”

Heee's Back(ing the Pack):A day after signing retirement paperwork ... yet again ... Brett Favre was in the news once more. The former Packers quarterback sent an e-mail to ESPN's Ed Werder proclaiming that the Packers will win the Super Bowl.#8220;I think they will win it all! I hope they do, if you are wondering,#8221; Favre wrote. #8220;(Packers QB) Aaron (Rodgers) is the best QB and the receiving corps is the best ever, maybe,#8221; Favre said in the e-mail. #8220;But (defensive coordinator) Dom (Capers) and the defense gets the MVP award at this stage.#8221;In other Favre news, the Green Bay Press Gazette reports that Groupon is offering any T-shirt on BrentFavre.com. for just $8.Yes, you read that right, it's Brent.Road warriors:Second straight road playoff game?Soldier Field?Hostile crowd? No big deal, according to Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy.#8220;Offensively we start Day One in training camp, managing crowd noise, and so playing on the road is not that big of a deal to us,#8221; McCarthy said. #8220;It's going to be a big part of playing in Soldier Field on Sunday. But playing on the road doesn't bother us at all.#8221;Modern-day rivalry:Here's how Packers receiver Greg Jennings feels about the Bears:#8220;I'm friends with a lot of those guys on their team, and that's pretty much in the off-season. We talk before the game, and depending on the outcome, after the game. But once that ball's kicked off, there are no friends out there. You may laugh and chuckle with your own teammates, but when you're on that field, the rivalry is full effect.#8221;The quote:#8220;We know each other so well that it's fun. It's football. This is how it should be. In Chicago, cold-weather game, big rivalry. It's going to be a good one.#8221;#8212; Packers LB A.J. Hawk
