The 2011 Shining Star Award winners will be honored at Mount Prospect's grandest event of the year, the 18th annual "Celestial Celebration" on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Bristol Court Banquets, 828 E. Rand Road in Mount Prospect.

A “Shining Star” is a person or organization who routinely steps outside of their own obligations to family, job, or community. The entire community is invited and encouraged to attend.

The cost of the evening is $45 which includes dinner, dancing and a truly heartwarming evening. The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Shining Star Awards to Mount Prospect's most deserving volunteers, community-minded citizens, and all around good-deed-doers.

This year's theme is "Shining Stars in Paradise." Formal attire is optional, or you can dress for the theme (tropical)! If you love Mount Prospect, you'll love this event.

New this year is a silent auction with proceeds to benefit local charity.
